It has emerged that one premier league player has tested positive for the Coronavirus.
In a statement released on monday, Premier League noted that the case emerged from the latest round of testing, but they did not reveal the player or the team affected.
Since the resumption of the league, the latest round of testing was conducted last week on player and straff from all the clubs.
“The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 22 June and Sunday 28 June, 2,250 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, one person has tested positive,” read the statement.
EPL resumed after taking break of 100 days due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Since players returned to contact training last month, tests have been carried out since May 17 and the league has conducted 11 rounds of testing so far.
